7 Reusing or repurposing existing courses

Before initiating the development of a new course, we recommend that you review current courses on open platforms such as FutureLearn and Coursera to confirm that your Course Proposal is likely to be original and avoid replication of existing learning resources.

If an Open course like the one you were planning to create already exists and has been created by a team at your institution, an alternative approach to developing a new course might be to contact the sponsoring school or faculty to explore opportunities for collaboration.
