29 Identifying and managing stakeholders
Begin this process by developing a list of the stakeholders who are:
- directly (or indirectly) involved in the Jam,
- influenced by (or influencing) the Jam.
You should consider how to manage each stakeholder group so that the project remains on track and stakeholders receive appropriate communications on time, are clear on the requirements and priorities and their values/needs are factored in from the start. It’s important to engage with your stakeholders so that you can maximise their engagement, develop a mutually agreed plan and understand how the project can be reciprocal in terms of benefits.
Refer to your stakeholder list throughout the duration of the project, making amendments as appropriate. Key stakeholders are likely to include:
- co-organisers,
- students,
- facilitators,
- partners (e.g. community groups, external organisations),
- internal teams (e.g. Digital Education Service, Organisational Development and Professional Learning, Communications, etc.),
- other groups outside the University.
