2 About the Discovery Delivery Group
About this work
The Discovery Delivery Group, in collaboration with the following stakeholders, created this handbook and its associated resources in 2024:
colleagues from Digital Education Service at the University of Leeds,
our partners – the University of Pretoria,
the local community of Mamelodi,
the LS14 Trust and the local community of Seacroft.
The Discovery Delivery Group developed prototype courses in three distinct formats for Discovery as part of Curriculum Broadening (within the Curriculum Redefined initiative); the Jam is one of them.
We envisage that in the future, the Jam format will facilitate the design of low-stakes learning opportunities for students, enabling them to consider bringing these into their own curriculum via the new Discovery modules. The Jam format may also be considered more widely as a design feature of the curriculum within existing modules, or for designing future events.
We welcome feedback on this first version of the handbook, enabling us to make enhancements. This handbook is made available as a Word document, enabling you to add to it in a dynamic way. You are welcome to adapt the design to make it more accessible for you.
