15 Pre-scenario template

The following questions will help you come up with all the ingredients necessary to put the scenario together:

  • What are the learning outcomes?
  • What core concepts do you want your learners to engage with?
  • What key three or four problems in the scenario do you want learners to explore? Remember, some complexity is necessary, but don’t overdo it. Scenarios that are oversimplified and too easy to solve are ineffective.
  • Be selective about what you share with learners. What background information about the scenario do you need to provide?
  • How are you going to present your scenario? What media are you going to use?
  • How are you going to facilitate discussion between learners?
  • How will you know what your learners have learnt?
  • Are you bringing community members into the learning scenario? If yes how can they contribute meaningfully and how can this be reciprocal?
