The 2024/25 team came together in February 2025.

Project launch

The project was launched during Open Education Week on the 7th of March 2025. We are grateful to OEGlobal for their support.

Ethical approval

Ethical approval granted was granted by the Faculty Research Ethics Committee (FREC) for Business, Environment, Social Sciences University of Leeds, Reference 2694 on the 28 February 2025.

The call for contributions

The call for contributions will remain open until the 1st of June 2028. All submissions will be reviewed, and you will be supported if your submission needs a little bit of extra work. To submit your entry please use this online survey link.

Writing jam

The offered a Writing jam on the 20 May 2025 to raise awareness about the project and provide practical support to students who would considering submitting.

The Prize draw

We had a prize draw to select 3 random winners among the submissions we had received. Professor Jeff Grabill kindly selected these. The prizes were funded by the University of Leeds Library.

The Publication

The book was published on the 9th of September 2025. We will continue accepting submissions until the 1st of June 2028.

The Podcast with student editors 2024/25

Chrissi Nerantzi interviewed Amani Ahsan and Olivia Davies about their involvement in the project and their experience as editors on the 17 October 2025. Thom Freeth edited the interview and prepared this podcast.

Student editors for 2025/26 recruited

PGRs Zachary Farouk Chai and Mark Grattan have joined us as editors this year on the 13th of November 2025.  We are grateful to the School of Education for their support and making this possible.
